Novation Racing originated by the development of upside down 65 forks and lightweight aluminum swingarms in 2000. Fred Lefriec and Pete Russell adventured together to develop new unbending suspension for mini motocrossers. With Ryan Villipoto as our first major user we were instantly at the top. We were able to make suspension that could be abused and swingarms that were lighter and stronger than the Stock KTM 65.

While designing the suspension for the very first time we experienced a high demand and a quick change in stock suspension. With the internals being the strong point we used the cartridge system from our complete fork and began making it adapt to 65 Kawasakis and 50 KTMs as well as Polinis. We gave them adjustment as well as real dampening considering the standard system still uses 1960 technology.Swingarms and Suspension work well together, but with extreme focus and business expansion; Fred and Pete decided to keep swing arms separate. Fred and Carl were behind the swingarms, and Pete behind the suspension, we made for two separate businesses. Novation Racing Corp. and Novation off-road suspension technologies, NOST. As time pushed on, both have gone to great extremes to keep the dirt biking a better sport around the world.
