Mid-Valves OD3

Mid-Valve Assemblies do more work than you would think. Mid-valves are in fact a key component in the way your forks respond to the terrain. Within the current suspension industry, very few tuners are doing much with the mid-valve assembly.

NOST recognizes the function and process of the mid-valve assembly, and has pumped it full of purpose. The mid-valve is a fast moving part and requires intense structural integrity as it blast towards the compression adjuster. The tolerances are so critical even one thousandth of an inch is crucial to the function and flow characteristics of the stock structure which is designed around the Mid-valve not opening enough. Due to the critical tolerances and flexibility required of the Mid-Valve assemblies, it is mechanically challenged and is limited in ways to improve the system. Most tuners have quickly learned there is simply not enough room to accomplish much; as the work space is very small and max control is out of reach, many choose to improve only one small area or another of the mid-valve assembly. Some even use a flat washer and take all the damping away; but to really fine tune this assembly with traditional thin flat shims becomes more than an exercise in compromise. Even with the highest flow structures it always becomes a process of give and take.

The NOST designed mid-valve assembly is built from the ground up with a new approach to the problem of traditional fatiguing and overly rigid parts…shims. At NOST we have managed to design a system to be wear resistant and firm, yet is so responsive it will fully open on sharp edges, and function without blowing thru the stroke on rolling whoops or jump faces. This translates to a very plush feeling ride that doesn’t get you in trouble! The NOST design has also retained a wide range of adjustability for fine tuning. The fact is that when compared to a normal shim stack/mid-valve assembly, the NOST system has a comparatively soothing damping flow: Yet remains firm and strong enough to hold up in knarly g-outs and steep jump faces and without feeling too loose or rigid.

Another very important fact about the NOST Mid-Valve Assembly is the very low wearing parts - - unlike current mid-valves with warping shims and sealing edge inconsistency; which leads to suspension looseness, higher maintenance and poorer performance over time. The NOST design has flow characteristics that are staged correctly and work together as a system; they are great for all terrains at any speed with one component set. This means when you go from track to track or desert to woods, the suspension holds the proper damping characteristics. The NOST mid-valve helps deliver the maximum performance with ultimate and desired results.
